AMBE Commitment Form

Shekon Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of AMBE, we would like to thank all of you who participated in the school surveys that we conducted in early August. Your input and voice has been heard and has had a direct impact on the planning for the upcoming school year.

Please take some time to fill out information for your child in the following pages. Please fill out one commitment form for each student. Communication between home and school will be vital to the success of students in the coming year. We will need a working phone number and email address for every student's parent/guardian.

If you have any questions at any point in time during the submission process, please contact your school administrator:

As many of you have stated, every family is in a unique situation and your decisions about schooling are different. Based on the surveys, AMBE will be providing two options for each registered student: full remote online learning and a hybrid in-school learning model. In both scenarios, AMBE will be providing instruction for four days a week with extra sanitizing days scheduled for Wednesdays. Below is a brief description of what both of these models look like.

OPTION A
Full Remote Online Learning
AMBE will provide each student with a Chromebook where they will have a virtual Google Classroom for all of their subjects, assignments, and lessons. There will be daily lessons that they will be expected to participate in. Each student will also be receiving packages of work that must be completed and submitted back to the school for grading purposes.

OPTION B
Hybrid In-School Learning
AMBE will provide each student with a Chromebook. The hybrid model will have students in school twice a week for 2 full days of instruction. They will then be expected to participate in their virtual Google Classroom with a package of work. These work packages must be returned to school with the student.

Sample: Student A is in school Monday and Tuesday. They will have a work package sent home with them on Tuesday. On Thursday and Friday they will have virtual meetings and instruction with their teacher to support their learning.

Students registered for K4 will not be provided with OPTION A or online resources. They will be in school for 2 days a week. Packages will be provided and there will be general resources on our AMBE website

Please note that if there is a significant rise in COVID-19 cases, AMBE may be required to close the school during the school year. Should this be necessary, all students will automatically switch to full remote online learning.

Transportation and Food Services

This section is only for parents who have chosen OPTION B. Please skip to the submission page if you have chosen OPTION-A.

Bus and Transportation - Only for those who choose OPTION B
Please be aware that in order to shorten the length of time that students are on the bus, there will be no inter-district transportation provided. If you attend AMS and you reside in St Regis, Snye, or the American side, we cannot provide bus transportation to AMS. Bussing to Kana:takon and Tsi Snaihne School will not be impacted.

For those who will use AMBE Transportation Services, there will be one pickup and drop-off location for your child that must be adhered to throughout the school year. Bus passes will not be accepted.

Food Services
Food services will be available to purchase to students who choose OPTION-B. The cost will be $2.00 per day and you must pay at least 1-month ahead of time. The deadline for payments will be the 26th of the previous month. The food provided will include a breakfast item and a boxed lunch. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, or e-transfer at etransfer@akwesasne.ca. Please include your child’s full name and school in the subject line of your e-transfer payments.
